Getting the Most From Your Doctor’s Appointment
Win or lose, every Seahawks game has one thing in common: a game plan.
Having a plan and preparing in advance can help you get the most out of your doctor’s appointments as well. Here are some tips to keep in mind.
- Make a list. Write down what you want to talk about with your provider. If you have several things to discuss, make sure you ask about the most important topics first. Don’t wait until the end of your appointment to bring up something critical.
- Bring it with you. Bring all your prescriptions drugs, and any other medications you take regularly, to your appointment. Or make a list to bring with you. And don’t forget your insurance cards and contact info for other doctors you see.
- Bring or ask for help. It’s fine to bring a family member or friend with you to an appointment. They can take notes or remind you what was discussed. If you know you’ll need an interpreter, let the office know well in advance so they can do their best to accommodate you.
A good game plan will help you get the most out of your doctor’s appointment and help you take control of your health and wellness.
