Virginia Mason receives H1N1 vaccine in allotments from Public Health, which directs us to administer the doses to patients at high risk for illness and health-care staff who work in daily contact with patients who have influenza-like illness. To date, very small amounts of vaccine have been received.

We will continue to follow Public Health's directive by allocating a portion of each allotment among patients and staff until we have vaccinated the 3,500 VM front-line staff who have direct contact with our patients.
