SEATTLE - (March 18, 2013) — Virginia Mason Medical Center recently announced the following changes in executive leadership roles.

  • Sue Anderson has been promoted to executive vice president from senior vice president, and she will continue her roles as chief financial officer and chief information officer.
  • Michael Glenn, MD, has been promoted to chief medical officer. Prior to his promotion, Dr. Glenn served as physician-in-chief and medical director of the clinics.
  • Andrew Jacobs, MD, has been named medical director of physician engagement and development, a newly defined role, critical to Virginia Mason's ongoing success. Prior to this new role, Dr. Jacobs served as chief medical officer.
  • Joyce Lammert, MD, has been promoted to medical director of the hospital. Prior to her new role, Dr. Lammert served as chief of medicine.
  • Donna Smith, MD, has been named medical director of the clinics. Prior to this new role, Dr. Smith served as medical director of the hospital.

These changes, which were announced by Virginia Mason Chairman and CEO Gary S. Kaplan, MD, took effect Feb. 1, 2013.
