SEATTLE - (Aug. 4, 2009) — The August 2009 issue of Seattle Metropolitan magazine features 64 providers from Virginia Mason Medical Center as Top Doctors. The list of top doctors as recommended by their peers includes 347 practitioners in 80 specialties.

"I am so very proud of these providers who work hard every day with their teams to keep our patients at the top," said Gary S. Kaplan, MD, Chairman and CEO of Virginia Mason. "The recognition of these physicians as top doctors demonstrates the professional respect they have achieved within the medical community and acknowledges their expertise in providing quality health care."

In compiling the Top Doctors list, Seattle Metropolitan magazine sent surveys to medical professionals in King, Kitsap and Snohomish counties. The surveys asked them to name the provider they would recommend regardless of their hospital, clinic or health-plan affiliation. The magazine posted the names of doctors who received the greatest percentage of votes in its August 2009 issue.
