SEATTLE, Wash. – Nov. 28, 2005 – Flu season is here, so for the next two Saturdays Virginia Mason Medical Center (VM) will offer the region’s first drive thru influenza immunizations (offering FluMist® and injectable vaccine). Clinics will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic is located at 1201 Ninth Avenue — at the corner of Seneca and Ninth. In addition, Seattle-based Tully’s Coffee is teaming up with VM to reward clinic-goers with a free cup of its handcrafted coffee. The flu clinic offers these benefits:
  • It’s quick.
  • It’s convenient.
  • It’s important (immunization saves lives) — and all within the comfort of your own car!
Drive up, fill out a form, get your immunization (and a cup of Tully’s Coffee) and drive away. A registered medical practitioner administers the injection or FluMist®. FluMist is a nasal spray influenza vaccine, and is an alternative to flu shots. It is recommended for healthy individuals between the ages of 5 and 49 years. Insurance plans will be billed for existing Virginia Mason patients. The cost is $34 if not covered by your insurance. For non- VM patients, receipts for insurance reimbursement will also be issued at this clinic. For more information, please contact the Virginia Mason immunization hotline at (888) 625-5515. ###
