Hepatitis C Clinic
At Virginia Mason's Comprehensive Hepatitis C Clinic, our highly skilled hepatology team provides comprehensive diagnosis, evaluation and treatment for patients with all stages of chronic hepatitis C.
Why should you receive care from Virginia Mason's Liver Center of Excellence?
The regular monitoring for patients who are at a high-risk for cirrhosis, or the scarring and hardening of the liver, is widely recommended – but often not followed in clinical practice. At Virginia Mason's Liver Center of Excellence, the annual screening compliance rate for cirrhosis is high above the national targets. This means that if you are a patient with liver disease, you will receive the highest quality of care from team members who are committed to meeting and exceeding national safety and compliance measures.
Clinical Trials on Liver Disease
The Liver Center of Excellence at Virginia Mason works closely with Benaroya Research Institute (BRI) to conduct studies with a bench-to-bedside approach in order to expedite our findings into medical treatment. Learn more about currently enrolling studies. To learn more about participating in a clinical trial on liver disease, call the DDI Research Hotline at (206) 341-1021 and view the DDI Research page.
Virginia Mason's Liver Center of Excellence is the first in the Pacific Northwest to offer the non-invasive FibroScan technology to evaluate disease stage in patients diagnosed with liver conditions.
Radiologist David Coy, MD, PhD and a colleague have recently received a top award from the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology Congress for their web-based liver imaging atlas. There are currently 22,000 providers using this tool around the world, which provides a free, easily accessible, practical, and up-to-date resource for radiologists and other medical professionals in all parts of the world.
