Down Syndrome Program

Virginia Mason Issaquah Expands Pediatric Care to Benefit Children with Down syndrome

Virginia Mason Issaquah's Down syndrome program, led by Rebecca Partridge, MD, is the first of its kind in the Seattle area. This unique program offers a range of services, including primary care for children with the genetic condition, health care maintenance, coordination of subspecialty needs, prenatal consultations and neonatal support.

Down syndrome affects an estimated one in every 690 babies born in the United States. Typically, children with the condition have a primary care provider and go to a separate Down syndrome clinic once a year for health maintenance and subspecialty needs. By comparison, the Virginia Mason program brings essential services into one convenient location.

Virginia Mason Issaquah's Down syndrome program welcomes referrals from primary care physicians and other pediatricians. Parents may also self-refer their children. Radiology, laboratory and audiology services are immediately available within the clinic.
