Construction Bulletin Special Update: Feb. 25, 2011
Notice of Construction Work at Seneca and Terry
Beginning Monday, Feb. 28, Virginia Mason Medical Center will begin removing generator fuel tanks that were temporarily housed in the concrete enclosure at the Seneca Street entrance to the hospital. The work includes demolishing the protective concrete walls, emptying and removing the fuel tanks, and restoring the original plant bed. We will also be removing the old generators and piping on the roof of the surgery wing. These activities are expected to be completed by March 18.
Between Feb. 28 and March 18, the Seneca driveway will be closed to vehicular traffic. Patient drop-off and pick-up will be redirected onto Terry Avenue and the existing Emergency Department entrance on Spring Street. Two police officers will be stationed on Seneca to direct traffic in front of the hospital. Both crosswalks across Seneca will remain open to pedestrian traffic; however, the Seneca sidewalk east of the turnaround area will be closed to pedestrian traffic and parking.
We apologize for any inconvenience these activities cause. As updated information becomes available, we will share it with you. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please contact:
