Construction Bulletin: Oct. 29, 2010
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
With the exterior construction on the Floyd & Delores Jones Pavilion nearly complete, we are going to cease issuing a weekly construction bulletin.
All sidewalks and streets are now open. The median on Boren Avenue at Spring Street has been reinstalled. All street trees, landscaping, lighting, canopies and amenities have been installed. The Metro bus stop on Boren at Seneca Street will be open in the coming weeks, dependent upon Metro's schedule.
Over the next year, we will continue to build out interior floors with the aim of relocating our Emergency Department and an Acute Care Unit into the new building by next fall. Whenever there may be an occasional disruption due to interior work, we will provide you with advanced notice. In the meantime, our website and hotline will remain active, and you can always reach us by phone or e-mail.
Let us again take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation for your patience throughout the construction period. Virginia Mason is planning to host a neighborhood event to which you will be invited, as a demonstration of our gratitude for the important role you have played in making this project a success. We look forward to seeing you soon.
