CHI Franciscan and CityMD to Open Urgent Care at Virginia Mason Bainbridge Island Medical Center on Feb. 25
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND – (Feb. 22, 2019) – CHI Franciscan and CityMD’s new urgent care center will open Monday, Feb. 25, in the Virginia Mason Bainbridge Island Medical Center, 1344 Wintergreen Lane N.E. The new location will join seven other CityMD sites serving communities across Kitsap, King, and Pierce counties.
“Together with CityMD and Virginia Mason, we are redefining urgent care in the Puget Sound — our patients’ experience is our highest priority,” said Ketul J. Patel, CEO, CHI Franciscan. “We are committed to ensuring families on Bainbridge Island have access to high-quality care that’s convenient, affordable, and close to home.”
CityMD’s urgent care model employs primarily board-certified emergency medicine doctors, so patients receive a level of care they would not typically experience at another urgent care provider. Together with key clinical support staff, like X-ray technicians and medical assistants, they offer easily-accessible medical care for a variety of illnesses and injuries, including sprains, minor fractures, allergies, urinary tract infections, asthma, and upper respiratory infections. Additionally, since it’s co-located with other medical services on the island, CityMD’s Aftercare program will provide vital follow-up services to patients and help to connect them with a full continuum of primary and specialty care services.
Virginia Mason opened the new Bainbridge Island medical facility in June 2018, expanding same-day access to family medicine and internal medicine, while also offering a wide range of specialty-care services.
“The urgent care services provided by CHI Franciscan and CityMD further expand access to needed, affordable care options for the entire community,” said Virginia Mason Chairman and CEO Gary S. Kaplan, MD. “Our team is delighted that the new program is in the same facility as Virginia Mason’s primary and specialty services. This co-location of medical expertise and services is an additional convenience for patients and their families.”
“This new location will be a convenient resource for island residents who value their time and need quality services for non-life-threatening medical needs,” said Joseph Passanante, MD, senior vice president, CityMD Medical Operations, Northwest Region. “When people come through our doors, they will receive exceptional care and leave with the best possible patient experience.”
The CityMD urgent care center will see patients seven days a week, including 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
