Chefs' Dinner Raises Over $230,000 for Bailey-Boushay House
- Proceeds will support clients and residents living with HIV/AIDS
SEATTLE, Wash. - (Jan. 16, 2007) - On Sunday, Jan. 14, over 500 community and corporate leaders gathered for the 15th annual Chefs’ Dinner, helping to raise more than $230,000 for Bailey-Boushay House, an organization that provides extraordinary and compassionate care for people living with HIV and other complex, life-threatening diseases.
The elegant evening of celebration featured savory hors d’oeuvres and a seven-course dinner prepared by thirteen celebrated area chefs, including Honorary Chair Holly Smith of Café Juanita in Kirkland.
Chef Smith made an additional contribution in support of Bailey-Boushay House, auctioning off a specialty dinner with wine for eight, at her restaurant or at the highest bidder’s home. The item went for $1,750.
“The need for a facility like Bailey-Boushay House is greater than it ever has been,” said Brian Knowles, Executive Director, Bailey-Boushay House. “We owe many thanks to these culinary masters for putting on such a wonderful celebration of Bailey’s work.”
Emcee for the evening was media personality Dick Foley and the event presenter was Marler Clark, LLP. Chefs’ Dinner 2007 was hosted by Bell Harbor International Conference Center and Columbia Hospitality, and sponsored in large part by the M.A.C. AIDS Fund.
The dinner was the most successful Chefs’ Dinner to date. All proceeds raised at the benefit will directly support the Adult Day Health Program and Residential Care programs at Bailey-Boushay House. Learn more about Bailey-Boushay House at BaileyBoushay.org.
