Breast Cancer Support and Survivorship
Breast Cancer Survival Rates
The five-year breast cancer survival rates are approximately:
- 96 percent, if the cancer has not spread outside of the ducts in the breast;
- 77 percent, if the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes, but the number of nodes involved is very important in determining the exact prognosis;
- 21 percent, if cancer has spread to more distant sites, such as the liver, lungs or bones.
More than two million breast cancer survivors are alive in America today.
