Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center offers a full range of adult and pediatric primary care and a wide range of specialty care services, including: bariatric surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology (GI), general and plastic surgery, gynecology, HIV/AIDS care, internal medicine, medical oncology, ophthalmology, optometry, orthopedics, otolaryngology (ear, nose and throat—ENT), physical therapy, podiatry, treatment for headaches, urgent care, urology and wound care. Other services include laboratory facilities, X-ray, mammography, bone density scanning, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI and a pharmacy.

The Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center has two separate facilities: a medical center and a hospital outpatient surgery center. These facilities bill differently.

Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center
The Virginia Mason Hospital Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) Federal Way is licensed and billed as part of Virginia Mason Hospital. Patients seeking care at the OSC may receive a separate charge for a hospital facility fee. This hospital facility fee could result in a higher out-of-pocket expense for patients. Depending on your insurance coverage, you may pay more for some services here than you would at one of our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) locations or medical centers. Please review your insurance benefits or contact your insurance company to see what your policy will pay and what you may have to pay out of pocket. For more information, contact Patient Financial Services at (206) 223-6601 or (800) 553-7803.

Medical Center
The Virginia Mason Federal Way Medical Center is not licensed or billed as part of a hospital. The hospital facility charge generally does not apply to services and procedures provided at the Federal Way Medical Center. One exception is for some laboratory specimens collected and radiology tests performed at the Federal Way Medical Center that are sent to our Hospital & Seattle Medical Center for analysis or interpretation. You may receive a separate bill from our Hospital & Seattle Medical Center for these tests in addition to a medical center bill.
