The bulk of the appt was me answering questions about what I typically eat. I had not taken time to make a mental or written list of that so it was awkward and not productive. Notifying me ahead of time might have helped - or send a survey ahead of time might help. I hoped for a greater explanation of nutrition in general and reasons why people might not follow good nutrition (time, cost, addictions, etc) but nothing was discussed in that front. Provider simply asked what I normally ate, suggested substitutions, calculated how many calories I should consume to maintain or lose weight and handed me a very basic laminated sheet of suggested food items. I really could have gotten all that with 15 minutes spent on the internet so I didn´t find this meeting helpful and I will not visit that provider again.

it was a nutritionist I saw--talked about specific items, suggestions were given about changes, which I will attempt to implement to see if any improvements in my condition are made. Talking points sugar/sugar substitutes, supplements, hand/wrist/arm pain, low/high sugar symptoms.
