Virginia Mason Earns ‘A’ for Patient Safety in National Hospital Safety Score Program
SEATTLE – (Oct. 29, 2015) – Virginia Mason has received another “A” for patient safety in the national Hospital Safety Score program administered by The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit hospital safety watchdog.
The safety grades are updated by Leapfrog twice a year, and Virginia Mason has received an “A” all eight times since the program began in 2012. Further, Virginia Mason is the only Seattle hospital to receive an “A” in Leapfrog’s latest release.
“To maintain our ‘A’ Hospital Safety Score on an ongoing basis requires a focus on patient safety from every one of our team members,” said Virginia Mason Chairman and CEO Gary S. Kaplan, MD. “This recognition by The Leapfrog Group is another testament to our commitment to always putting our patients first.”
