We cordially invite you to join us virtually for Barrett's Esophagus: What You Need to Know if You Have Heartburn, a talk about digestive health and your well-being, sponsored by the Digestive Disease Institute at Virginia Mason. This free event is open to all patients and the general public.

Presenters:

Rajesh Krishnamoorthi, MD Gastroenterologist

&

 Madhan Kuppusamy, MD Thoracic Surgeon

Get the Facts
You may have never heard of Barrett's Esophagus, but if you or a loved one are among the many who suffer from chronic heartburn or acid reflux disease, you may want to learn more. An expert esophageal surgeon and gastroenterologist will discuss Barrett's Esophagus in-depth, including what to look for, screening recommendations, and available surgical treatments.

Hear what our physician experts have to say, then ask questions and discuss their answers with them in real time! Topics include:

  • Is Barrett's Esophagus dangerous? How often does it lead to esophageal cancer?
  • How are GERD and Barrett's Esophagus similar and different?
  • Does everyone with Barrett's esophagus need treatment?
  • Is it possible to cure Barrett's Esophagus?

This is a two-part event on Wednesday, October 7, 2020:

  1. Watch the presentations via YouTube, from 5:30p.m. - 6:00p.m., prior to the question and answer (Q&A) session.
