By the time I spoke to Dr. O´Malley, I had already spoken to my surgeon and a radiologist, so all my questions were well taken care of.

My trust in this care provider is steadily increasing. I don´t trust cancer so it´s hard to trust any oncologist! She´s being very patient and respectful as I build my trust in her.

Good.

September 2016
Dr O´Malley is a bit dismissive and although I have confidence in the care I have received from her, I do not care for what comes across as glibness in her manner. She is always quick. I think she cares but is not especially caring in her manner. It may just be that we have personalities that don´t mesh, but my husband and I both have the same opinion about her.

September 2016
I loved being treated by Dr O´Malley! She always made me feel so comfortable and explained to me my lab results in a way that I could understand. She really is a great Dr!

September 2016
This is my consult with Drs. O´Malley, Grumley & Yao. Each was excellent. Grumley´s description about DCIS in general was stellar. Her explanation of my personal options were equally excellent.

June 2016
Dr. O´Malley has been great throughout my chemotherapy.

June 2016
Dr. Picozzi is the man! I trust him completely and am alive today because of him. I have recommended him to another person who he accepted as a patient and has helped greatly. His whole staff is tops and I can´t say enough about them.

On Patients
“The relationship between a cancer patient and their oncologist is perhaps the most unique of all the specialties. I strive to be a source of information, compassion, hope, and connection with my patients. I have always felt that it was my honor to take care of such amazing and resilient people. Whether you are dealing with a new breast cancer diagnosis, a new lung cancer or lymphoma, or even a new anemia or hematology issue, my goal is to become partners as we take it on together.”

On Specialty
“The field of medical oncology and hematology is changing at light speed, with new and exciting treatments and therapies emerging all the time. I chose to become an oncologist because of the connection with my patients and the ability to help them through scientific discovery. I have wanted to be an oncologist from the beginning; right at the time I decided I wanted to be a doctor in the first place. Cancer care is a dynamic and evolving field – when that is combined with the human connection, I would never choose to practice anything else.”

On Virginia Mason
“Here at Virginia Mason, the patient comes first. We combine both compassion and comfort with the cutting edge of research, advancement, and clinical trials. The combination, in my opinion, is unparalleled. I feel lucky to be a part of it.”
