On Patients
“There simply is no greater privilege than taking care of patients. The process of listening to the patients, answering their questions and dealing with their fears is truly sacred to me. Thereafter, the practice of attaining a diagnosis and offering each patient the best treatment is a right patients deserve and should expect.”

On Virginia Mason
“Patients with hepatobiliary, pancreatic or endocrine diseases require a different mindset. They truly need care that is multidisciplinary and centered around patient education. This care is built on four essential elements: thorough preoperative work-up, technically superb interventional and operative skills, meticulous postoperative care, and multispecialty long-term follow-up. This team mindset, with all its essential elements, is what we practice at Virginia Mason.”
