SEATTLE – (Sept. 21, 2017) – Virginia Mason Chairman and CEO Gary S. Kaplan, MD, is on the 2017 list of “112 Physician Leaders to Know,” compiled and posted online by Becker’s Hospital Review, a Chicago-based news organization that focuses on the health care industry.

Dr. Kaplan is a practicing internal medicine physician who has served as chairman and CEO of Virginia Mason Health System since 2000. He is also chair of the National Patient Safety Foundation’s Lucian Leape Institute and immediate past chair of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Board of Directors.
