SEATTLE – (Feb. 2, 2017) — A total of 275 people attended the 25th annual Chefs’ Dinner Jan. 29, raising $368,000 to help Bailey-Boushay House provide end-of-life and recuperative care for individuals with AIDS, cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other acute illnesses.

“We are honored to have such extraordinary friends who give so generously of their time, enthusiasm and support to make a difference for the clients at Bailey-Boushay House,” said Jeanne Jachim, president, Virginia Mason Foundation.

Chefs from 12 Seattle-area restaurants donated their culinary talents for the dinner-and-auction fundraiser, including Walter Pisano of Tulio Ristorante; Jim Drohman of Le Pichet; and Robb Kirby of the Purple Cafe & Wine Bar. Hosts for the event, held at Bell Harbor International Conference Center, were Columbia Hospitality (represented by John Oppenheimer) and Kelley-Ross Pharmacy Group (represented by Ryan Oftebro).

Bailey-Boushay House, a part of Virginia Mason Health System, is the first skilled-nursing and outpatient chronic care management program in the United States designed and built specifically to meet the needs of people with HIV/AIDS. Its services have expanded over the years to also include chronic pain management and to serve individuals with mental illness, drug addiction and homelessness.
