SEATTLE – (May 31, 2016) – Virginia Mason has announced several leadership changes designed to better meet the needs of patients and the organization as it looks to the future.

Suzanne Anderson has been promoted to president of Virginia Mason Medical Center and named executive vice president of Virginia Mason Health System, effective June 1.

Anderson will partner with Chief Medical Officer Michael Glenn, MD, in overseeing patient care services at the medical center. Additionally, she has responsibility for finance, human resources, health resource services, information systems and support services, as well as the organization-wide focus on continuous improvement.

“I am extremely honored for this opportunity to help guide the work of a wider array of teams in our great organization as we collaborate to provide a health care experience in the ambulatory and hospital settings that is second to none,” said Anderson, who joined Virginia Mason in 2007 and previously served as senior vice president, executive vice president, chief financial officer and chief information officer.

In addition, Katerie Chapman, senior vice president and hospital administrator, will assume responsibility for outpatient services in addition to her leadership of the hospital. In the expanded role as senior vice president for patient care services, Chapman also oversees Bailey-Boushay House and several other functions to align and integrate clinical and care delivery services.

• Craig Goodrich, senior vice president for Finance and Accounting, has been promoted to chief financial officer.
• Santokh Gill, executive director of Strategic Relationships, has been promoted to vice president, Patient Care Services. His new role includes accountability for the Virginia Mason Cancer, Digestive Disease, Heart and Neuroscience institutes.
• Steve Schaefer, vice president, has been promoted to senior vice president, Support Services.
• Julie Sylvester, executive director of Business Development, has been named vice president, Business Development.
• Joyce Lammert, MD, medical director, Hospital, has been promoted to executive medical director.
• Donna Smith, MD, medical director, Clinic, has been promoted to executive medical director.
