The Hospital Chargemaster is a list of all billable services charged by the hospital for services rendered. Our hospital license covers our downtown Seattle Medical Center and our Federal Way Outpatient Surgery Center. The Professional Chargemaster is a list of all billable services charged by physicians for services rendered.
The total charges of a service or a procedure will vary based on the combination of services provided, including hospital fees, physician fees, drugs, supplies, lab tests or radiology procedures. In addition, if you receive care at one of our hospital based facilities, you may receive a hospital facility charge in addition to a professional charge.
If the services you receive are covered by your insurance, your benefits will determine how much you will be required to pay out-of-pocket. Our Financial Navigators can offer out-of-pocket estimates based on your insurance plan. Further information is available on our Patient Cost Estimator page.
You may compare Virginia Mason's inpatient charges against other Washington State hospitals on the Washington State Hospital Association website. This website allows you to compare pricing for select procedures.

Virginia Mason encourages you to apply for financial assistance if you need help paying your charges. We provide financial assistance to eligible patients in keeping with federal and state law. Applications are available from Financial Navigator staff located at our Seattle and Federal Way Medical Centers.
