This program is a narrow network program and Virginia Mason is not in the network. Unless emergency, patients will need approved referrals for all services within Virginia Mason. If not approved, patient is financially responsible for amounts not paid by insurance.

Approved referrals are not required under this plan. However, patients must utilize providers who are in the Premera Individual Signature provider network.
Effective January 1, 2022, Virginia Mason contracted for Regence Individual and Family metallic plans (Platinum Gold, Silver and Bronze products). All Regence Individual and Family medical plans are Exclusive Provider Organization's (EPO), which offer no coverage outside the network (with exception of emergency care). To avoid surprise bills, patients must be very careful to always see an in-network provider, which now includes VMFH.
If there is a need to see a specialist not offered in their insurance provider network, patients would need Regence authorization to utilize a specialist outside of their network.
