Meet the Memory Disorders Providers:

People are affected by a variety of progressive memory disorders. Degenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease, progressively destroy nerve cells in the brain, slowly decreasing a person's memory and ability to reason and communicate. Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, a term which describes a variety of symptoms caused by loss of brain function.

There is currently no cure for degenerative memory disorders. The goals of treatment are to help alleviate patients' symptoms and slow their progression. Research studies are ongoing to discover new treatments for these illnesses.
